The Story
Born in New York City, 23 year old Maya Hawke is an actress, singer and lyricist. Hawke is famously known for her statement role on Netflixâs Stranger Things, and can be seen in Quentin Tarantinoâs Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Amanda Kramerâs Ladyworld, and the Netflix film Do Revenge.
Following the reception of her independently released A and B side singles in 2019, she released the deeply personal full-length album Blush. Hawke, who wrote the lyrics, continued her collaboration with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Jesse Harris, who wrote the music for the album.
Now, in 2022, on the heels of another Stranger Things season and feeling more inspired than ever, Hawke releases her sophomore album MOSS. Hawke introduced the album to the world sitting on a couch across from none other than Jimmy Fallon, where they also discussed Hawkeâs vulnerable announce single âThĂ©rĂšseâ. Hawke followed up the dreamy, provocative announce track with sweet and sprawling âSweet Toothâ and the lamenting âLuna Mothâ.
