The Story
Moe Pope. The Arcitype. Christopher Talken. Jonathan Ulman. Together they are STL GLD.
On the surface, STL GLD are a Hip Hop band. However, through captivating performances, STL GLD continually push beyond the traditions of Hip Hop with genre bending compositions. Multifaceted and complex, their live show sees elements of hip hop, rock, punk, and cinematic orchestra all coming together for an unforgettable live experience. Creators of such dynamic experiences, STL GLD were crowned winners of âLive Artist of the Yearâ at the 2018 Boston Music Awards and named âBoston's Best Bandâ by Improper Bostonian.
Their sophomore album 'Torch Song' (âAlbum of the Yearâ in 2017) paved the way for a wild ride in 2018, which saw them share the stage with the likes of Eminem, Khalid, and The Roots.
Moe Pope: âHip Hop has always been a form of therapy for people. The culture has helped the world to dance even when they want to collapse and cry. This beautiful art form has been and always will be a window into another personâs soul. This album is a year of mine; heavily soaked in whiskey, blunt smoke, and pure rage. This is a collection of my joys and traumas, this is me smiling through the pain. We are no longer shocked, no longer asking how or why. There is no going back, this is The New Normal.â
